Canine hydrotherapy & rehabilitation - Peterborough
Our services

Treatments tailored to your dog.

Hydrotherapy, physiotherapy, red light therapy and myotherapy. We combine treatments to give your dog the best chance of feeling their best, alongside guidance for owners every step of the way.

Hydrotherapy

Our warm, large heated pool offers your dog plenty of room for water therapy programmes, fun and play. We use the water as a means of supporting dogs in a non-weight bearing environment, allowing movement that would not normally be possible.

The pool is 24ft by 12ft, heated to an optimum 27-30°C, and is the largest in the area. The water is treated to the highest standards of hygiene and quality is monitored regularly. Every dog wears a buoyancy aid or harness, and a qualified hydrotherapist stays close at hand throughout. After the session we towel and warm-air dry your dog before a final health check.

Hydrotherapy can help with arthritis, hip and elbow dysplasia, post-op recovery (cruciate, hip replacement), spinal conditions, weight management, ligament strains, restricted movement, luxating patella, OCD, CDRM and more.

  • Better joint mobility and movement
  • Relief from pain, inflammation and stiffness
  • Maintaining and increasing muscle tone and mass
  • Improved cardiovascular fitness
  • Improved quality of life for your dog

Physiotherapy

When water therapy isn’t an option for your dog, or as a treatment to work alongside it, we offer canine physiotherapy. Physiotherapy is the treatment of disease, injury or deformity by physical methods including massage, heat and cold therapy, and specific exercises.

We use physiotherapy to restore movement and function for your dog and to reduce the risk of injury or illness in the future. Through soft-tissue techniques and joint mobilisations, we can help with a wide range of problems including post-orthopaedic surgery cases, spinal pain, tendon and ligament strains, muscle atrophy, nerve damage and arthritic stiffness.

  • Reduce back and neck pain
  • Support arthritis strains
  • Aid recovery from injury
  • Post-operative rehabilitation
  • Support for spinal and neurological problems

Red Light Therapy

Red light therapy is a complementary therapy we use alongside hydrotherapy and physiotherapy, and it is proven to enhance the benefits of both. The treatment uses pulsating red and infra-red LED phototherapy to deliver an evidence-based dose of light that speeds up the body’s natural healing process and stimulates metabolic changes.

It is non-invasive, calming, and effective for a wide range of conditions: joint pain, osteoarthritis, sore muscles, wounds and cuts, infections, inflammation, ligament and tendon injuries, and muscle regeneration.

  • Speeds up natural healing
  • Reduces inflammation
  • Supports healthy joints, muscles and tissue
  • Non-invasive and calming

Myotherapy

Myotherapy is similar to physiotherapy. It combines targeted exercises, massage and trigger point release therapy to treat chronic muscular pain in dogs. Stacey is a qualified Canine Myotherapist and Trigger Point Release Specialist, which lets us address the prevention, management and treatment of movement and allied disorders.

Before treatment we observe behaviour, posture, muscle balance and gait so the right areas of the body get targeted attention. The techniques we use help restore and maintain the normal integrity of soft tissue structures including muscles, tendons, ligaments and fascia.

  • Reduces stress and alleviates pain
  • Improves circulation and muscle function
  • Helpful for repetitive strain injuries
  • Supports osteoarthritis and patella issues
  • Can address compensatory and behavioural issues
